Why I Designed My Own Leather Dog Seatbelt (and What I Learned)

There’s something satisfying about stepping into your car, and seeing gear that reflects your style. But when it came to securing dog passengers for a ride, we kept running into the same thing — stringy nylon tethers that felt more like an afterthought than a part of the experience.

So we decided to change that.

A Better Solution for Better Rides

With over a decade in luxury sourcing — from handcrafted leather shoes to refined travel accessories — I knew we could do better. We didn’t want to just create another version of what was already out there. We wanted to design something that actually belonged in the world we live in: thoughtful, well-made, and quietly elevated.

This wasn’t about logos or trends. It was about solving a real problem in a way that felt… right.  We wanted something stiffer that didn't tangle, and something that stayed on top of the seats and would be easy to access as soon as the dog hopped in the car.  Our unique construction solved this for us permanently!

What came out of that effort were two distinct series — each designed for a different kind of traveler:
